Quinteto Jonas Linnemann plays adventurous contemporary jazz with Brazilian influences. The special combination of violin, harmonica, classical 7-string guitar, double bass and drums creates a surprising new sound. Quinteto plays their own work composed exclusively for this line-up by Jonas Linnemann. The ingredients of these original compositions are strong grooves interspersed with powerful improvisations.
Jonas Linnemann is a versatile drummer, percussionist and composer. As co-leader of the internationally acclaimed formation StarkLinnemann, he recorded nine albums for his own label UCM records. As a freelance drummer, he has collaborated with many renowned “jazz” artists. His creative process as a composer is heavily influenced by ethnic music and rhythms from around the world, as well as classical music.
His Career highlights include sold-out performances at the Alexandrinsky Theater in St.Petersburg, The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and Artist in Residencies in Karthoum and Juba.
